Resilent Borders' pilot actions

Strengthening Integration and Resilience in European Border Regions

Through Resilient Borders’ call for proposals, 19 pilot actions will be implemented by September 2025. These initiatives aim to enhance integration and resilience in border regions through collaborative cross-border planning.

The key focus areas are two critical domains:

  • Cross-border Crisis Management
  • Cross-border Spatial Planning

The beneficiaries of Resilient Borders will develop joint plans and improve governance across various European border regions. Over an eight-month period, these 19 beneficiaries will:

  • Implement innovative pilot projects
  • Foster new methods of cross-border cooperation
  • Develop tools and strategies to enhance regional resilience

By the end of the implementation period, each beneficiary will have contributed to creating robust frameworks and approaches, ensuring that our border regions are better prepared for future challenges.

‘‘The pilot actions are a valuable opportunity to exchange ideas, gather structured evidence, and address long-pending, crucial issues in crisis management and spatial planning, which will make it possible to enhance borders resilience’’
